If you answered yes to any of those questions, we encourage you to attend AACP’s Virtual Pharmacy School Fair!
Come prepared with questions…or don’t! The Virtual Pharmacy School Fair features workshops hosted by pharmacy schools, addressing topics that will provide attendees with knowledge and skills for navigating the pharmacy admission process and entering a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) program as well as workshops on Exploring Pharmacy Career Paths, Navigating Pre-Pharmacy Admissions, and Preparing for Pharmacy School.

10am – 10.30am: Pivoting to Pharmacy: Leveraging Your Personal Experiences in the Admissions Process | Mercer University College of Pharmacy
By highlighting a current pharmacy student’s path to pharmacy school, this presentation will employ a question-and-answer format to probe pre-pharmacy academic, professional, and personal experiences, along with trials and triumphs that accompanied transitioning into pharmacy school. This structured dialogue plans to offer practical insights into how pharmacy applicants can recast experiences that may initially appear to be “non-pharmacy related” as integral attributes that would benefit pharmacy programs and the overall pharmacy profession.
10.30am – 11am: Pharmacy Careers and Which One is Right for You | ETSU Bill Gatton College of Pharmacy
Non-Traditional Pharmacy Careers: Exploring emerging fields such as social media pharmacy, nuclear pharmacy, and transplant pharmacy, highlighting their roles and impact on patient care and the healthcare system.
11am – 11.30am: Strategies for Cultivating a Strong Professional Presence Within a PharmD Program | Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science
Explore simple and quick strategies for cultivating a strong and credible professional presence during a Doctor of Pharmacy Program. Integrate faculty and student perspectives on making a positive impact as a Student Pharmacist, including networking etiquette, using universal inclusive language, and managing a social and virtual presence. Discuss how to “act like a host” and express meaningful appreciation.
11.30am – 12pm: How to be a Primary Care Pharmacist | University of New Mexico College of Pharmacy
The future of pharmacy will be to provide increased access to primary care for patients across the United States. This presentation will describe what Primary Care Pharmacy is and the knowledge and skills future pharmacy students will need to be primary care providers.
12pm-12.30pm: Ten Tips for a Successful Virtual Admissions Interview | Midwestern University College of Pharmacy
Virtual admissions interviews offer unique opportunities and challenges. This presentation will provide ten tips for interviewing virtually, including managing technology and maximizing your communication skills to stand out as a successful candidate.
12.30pm-1pm: PharmD Careers in the Healthcare Sector | Regis University School of Pharmacy
This presentation throws the net wide to identify the wide range of career opportunities for PharmD’s. It includes clinical, industry, regulatory and healthcare administration roles. The presentation finishes up with a few pointers on how to navigate the pre-admissions process.
1pm-1.30pm: Prescription for Success: Navigating PharmCAS | Creighton University School of Pharmacy and Health Professions
This presentation is designed to guide applicants through the PharmCAS application process. The application is all-encompassing and can feel overwhelming. This presentation will show you what programs see once you have submitted your application and help walk you through the steps of applying. Our goal is to provide tips, insights, and strategies to help candidates effectively complete the PharmCAS application.
1.30pm-2pm: Exploring Digital Pharmacy | Virginia Commonwealth University School of Pharmacy
Digital pharmacy is an up-and-coming area in health care, but what is it really? What do you do if you work in digital pharmacy, and what kinds of jobs are available to you? Dr. Wijesinghe is VCU’s resident expert in all things digital pharmacy, including things like artificial intelligence, nanotechnology, and virtual reality. Learn more from him about what you could expect to do as a digital-focused pharmacist and what you can do as a student to prepare.
2pm-2.30pm: Exploring the Future of Pharmacy Careers | University of South Florida Taneja College of Pharmacy
If you are interested in exploring what the future of pharmacy holds, you’ve come to the right workshop! In this workshop, you will gain a futuristic perspective of how healthcare is improving and how the future of pharmacy will impact change in career opportunities. Learn about the important role of AI, personalize medicine through pharmacogenomics, 3D printing of medications, and much more!
2.30pm-3pm: Tips and Tricks for Success in the Pharmacy Admissions Process | Touro College of Pharmacy
In this session you will learn tips and tricks from a dean of Admissions on how to approach the process of writing a personal statement, obtaining letters of recommendation and acing the interview.
3pm-4pm: Pathway to Pharmacy: Insider Tips and Experiences from PharmD Students | University of Iowa College of Pharmacy
Join us for a session on the pharmacy school application journey, where we will discuss best practices and strategies for success. A panel of current University of Iowa PharmD students will share their experiences and answer questions to support future applicants.
