University of the Sciences | Philadelphia Science Festival

April 22, 2018 @ 11:00 am - 4:00 pm

| Free

Part of the Philadelphia Science festival, this is an inter-professional outreach event to educate the community about how different healthcare professions collaborate to provide optimal patient care. Multidisciplinary healthcare professionals and students will volunteer at this event, including occupational therapists, pharmacists, physical therapists, and physicians from the University of the Sciences and Cooper Medical School of Rowan University. First, community members will meet and greet with professional students and faculty. Next, participants will rotate through various stations with interactive learning, games, and/or simulations to learn the roles and responsibilities of specific healthcare professionals. Afterwards, inter-professional collaboration will be simulated using standardized patients. During this activity, all healthcare professionals will come together to provide team-based medical care for a parent and child. Community members will learn about various healthcare professions through interactive activities that simulate inter-professional collaboration.
