PHARMACY: MEDICINAL CHEMISTRY & DRUG DISCOVERY

The UConn Pre-College Summer course in Medicinal Chemistry and Drug Discovery gives junior and senior high school students an overview of the entire drug development process. We start with how pharmaceutical companies determine what disease they want to target and work our way through the entire discovery process over the one-week course, ending with post-approval monitoring by the FDA. Class and lab time is included. This course is led by a UConn School of Pharmacy faculty member.

The cost is $1900 which includes a $300 application fee. This course has an additional lab fee of $50. Supervised dorm accommodations on the UConn Storrs campus, recreational activities, and all meals are included.
